“How Sailboats Work”

Featuring PC Marc Epstein
On June 14th, we will be privileged to hear PC Marc Epstein (“Vision”) talk about basic sailing facts. He will review how sailboats work and the basic laws of physics that put the forces of wind, water and equipment together to make boats go. He will blend the science of sailing with the artistry that comes from observing the wind, the waves, and the other forces that impact the sailing experience. He will also talk about the basic points of sail, sail adjustment, and how to get the most out of the conditions encountered.
While this will be a lecture about the basics, all members are invited and encouraged to bring families, partners, and others who may be interested in how all of this works to produce the magic of sailing.
