LAUNCH SERVICE PROGRAM

Schedule

1.     Spring Pre—Season Service.

2.     Mid Season Check-up, and Oil change

(approx. 3rd week of June, August & Sept. resp.).

3.     Haul—out storage service.

1.     Lube and adjust rudder post packing nut. Check rudder arm steering cables, or rods. Lubricate and tighten all bolts and lag screws. Grease steering cables on Launch *1.

2.     Lubricate and tighten drive shaft packing nut.

3.     Clean engine drip pan, remove refuse from bilge, wash and clean with hot water and detergent.

4.     Charge batteries, check all cells hydrometer. necessary. Clean all terminals, tighten starter connections.

5.     Remove and grease sea cock and water fileter on the fresh water side of engine. Remove salt water pump and check the impeller for cracks and missing lobes. Replace impeller if necessary and grease all cover bolts.

6.     Tighten all. hose connections, fill fresh water cooling system with water and anti—freeze. Solution should be 1/2 water—1/2 anti—freeze (-‘20 degrees F). Add 1/2 jar (2.5—3 oz.) of Bars Leak.

7.     Remove valve cover, tighten head bolts and injectors. cover and lube all bolts.

8.     Check all belts and tighten all bolts on engine.

9.     Lubricate shift and throttle, check and adjust shift for neutral at center position.

10. Check all exhaust system hoses and clamps.

11. Hook—up garden hose to pail, insert engine sea water in-take in pail and start engine. Run engine for 15 minutes, starting at least 3 times. After engine is hot, change oil and oil filter. Make sure all gages are operating, all warning horns are functional and the engine is running smoothly. Remove and clean the air fitter air intake screen.

12. Check hydraulic transmission oil. If not clean or if water contamination is present is present, (white color to oil) change oil. If water is present, remove oil cooler and check for leaks.

13. Check 8 lag- screws on engine mounts, tighten all bolts and engine brackets. If lags are loose, remove and install wooden dowels, re-tighten lags. Scrape or brush all rust areas and spray with paint or oil. Spray all engine mount screws with oil.

14. Split drive shaft coupling and check alignment with feeler gage (.005). Re—align engine if necessary (yearly). In fact, if you can turn the shaft by hand, by grabbing the coupling, there are great chances it is correctly aligned.

15. Clean and paint engine.

16. Estimated service time per launch:

                  Spring — — — 16 hours

                  In season check—up — — — 8 hours.

                  Pre—winter storage —— 8 hours.
